Softball: CCC Nabs First All-State Pitcher

Central Community College softball is pleased to announce the signing of Lilly Cast, a senior pitcher from Centennial High School in Utica.

Cast was named Class C First Team by the Omaha World-Herald following the 2018 season, making her the first all-state pitcher to sign with CCC softball in program history.

Cast led the Broncos to a 25-9 regular season mark and a sixth seed in the 2018 NSAA softball tournament. In the opening round game against Guardian Angels Central Catholic, she struck out seven Blue Jay batters, while giving up only three hits in an 11-3 victory. Centennial eventually finished fourth in the state tournament. Cast went 17-9 in the circle during her senior campaign.

"Lilly is a great sign for the Raider Softball program," said CCC head coach Jack Gutierrez. "Her strength in the circle and at the plate will pay dividends for next year's team. She is a very good student, which complements her talent on the field."

Cast will major in business at CCC. She is the daughter of Jeff and Kathy Cast of Beaver Crossing.
