Softball: Raiders Sign Five Players

Central Community College softball has signed five players in recent weeks from high schools throughout Nebraska. They are:

Morgan Carver, an outfielder from Adams Central High Schools in Hastings.

"Morgan is an outfielder with good defensive skills that will really strengthen our outfield," said CCC head coach Jack Gutierrez. "She is a team leader for her high school team that we think will successfully transition into college."

Mylee Sheets, a shortstop from Tekamah-Herman High School.

"Mylee was recruited to come in and fill a vacated shortstop position and we think she will do exactly that," said Gutierrez. "She played high school softball for her mom as the coach, so her softball IQ is very high."

Kassidy Soulliere, a pitcher from Lakeview High School.

"Kassidy is familiar with how things work at Central Community College," said Gutierrez. "She only played one year of high school softball, so her potential has barely been tapped. We think she has her best softball ahead of her."

Michaela Wegener, an infielder from Pender High School, which co-ops with Wisner for softball.

"Michaela was a shortstop in high school, but we plan to move her to second base which shouldn't be a problem," said Gutierrez. "She is a student of the game and will help the Raiders with her athleticism."

Ragan Wood, a catcher from Central Valley High School in Greeley.

"Ragan had great success as a high school catcher," said Gutierrez. "She is a tough-minded athlete and we can play her anywhere on the infield or outfield."
