Five Central Community College softball players have earned 2016 Region IX Division II Softball honors. Freshman Jacy Bretschneider was named Player of the year, while Maddie Kucera was named Freshman of the Year. Southeast Community College head coach Bob Ginsburg was named Coach of the Year after guiding the third-seed Lady Storm to the Region IX Softball Tournament championship.

Joining Kucera and Bretschneider on the All-Region team is CCC sophomore Jayd Roberts. Bretschneider was also named to the All-Tournament team along with sophomores Janey Pasold and Logan Zelney.

Southeast Community College placed three players on the All-Region team and four players on the All-Tournament squad. North Platte Community College sported five players on the All-Region team, while three Knights players made the All-Tournament team. The Lady Storm won the Sheila Worley Sportsmanship award.

Southeast CC won the Region IX Division II tournament with a 4-1 victory over CCC in game four. The Lady Storm will advance to the District G tournament on May 7-8, and will face the winner of Region 11b.
