Men’s Soccer: Raiders Tie Generals

The Central Community College men's soccer team battled Sheridan College to a 2-2 double-overtime tie on Saturday at the Raider Soccer Complex.

The Generals struck first in the 33rd minute when Rylan Mocko scored off the assist of Nathan Beraldo Dos Santos to make it 1-0. The one-goal lead held up through the end of the first half.

CCC got on the board four minutes into the second half when Anthony Bolanos logged an unassisted goal to even the contest, 1-1. Sheridan College answered back in the 65th minute as Bryce Taylor found the back of the net with Bergen Quale assisting to give the Generals a 2-1 advantage. With two minutes to go in regulation, the Raiders tied the game at 2-2 as Bolanos scored his second goal of the day with Luis Ruiz assisting. The clock ran out and both teams went to overtime knotted at two apiece.

Neither team could score in the first extra session, forcing a second overtime. Once again, scoring was dormant and the game ended in a 2-2 stale mate.

CCC goalie Joao Victor finished with six saves, while Kaden Carson and Marcell Wusiewicz combined for four saves for Sheridan.

The tie gives the Raiders a season mark of 4-1-1.

CCC returns to the pitch on Monday with a road contest against York College JV. Game time is set for 4 p.m. in York.
