Men’s Soccer: Raiders Shutout Vikings

The Central Community College men's soccer team improved to 2-0 with a 2-0 win over Midland University JV in Fremont on Thursday.

CCC's Chris Izaguirre commenced the scoring with an unassisted goal in the 20th minute to put the Raiders up, 1-0.

Twenty-five minutes into the second half, CCC's Luis Ruiz scored a goal with Izaguirre assisting to boost the Raiders' lead to 2-0. The Vikings were unable to find the back of the net and the Raiders left town with the shutout.

CCC netminder Joao Victor collected two saves on the day.

"This was another great team win for us," said CCC head coach Hawken Hanna. "The defense had another solid game and our attacking unit created a lot of opportunities. I am really excited to see what the team can do as we grow and go into the thick of the season the next few weeks."

Up next, the Raiders have a Saturday contest at John Wood Community College in Council Bluff, Iowa.
