Men’s Soccer: Plainsmen Defeat Raiders

The Central Community College men's soccer team lost to Northeastern Junior College, 4-0, on Saturday. It was the final regular season game at Raider Soccer Field.

The nationally ranked Plainsmen scored all four goals in the first half. The first two goals were scored in the first four minutes, while the other two were scored before 30 minutes had elapsed.

CCC goalie Ruben Gonzalez collected 11 saves on the afternoon.

"This is probably the team to beat in the Region IX and they came out fast against us," said CCC head coach Hawken Hanna. The result wasn't what we wanted for our sophomores' last home game. However, I am very proud of our group of sophomores and look forward to them leading us in a playoff run this year."

The loss gives the Raiders a 9-7-1 mark for the 2018 season.

CCC now moves on to the Region IX playoffs. The Raiders will travel to Gillette College in Wyoming to take on the Pronghorns on Saturday, Oct. 20, at 1 p.m.
