Men’s Soccer: CCC Defeats Concordia JV

The Central Community College men's soccer team moved back into the winning column with a 1-0 victory over Concordia JV in Seward on Tuesday. With the win, the Raiders improve to 3-0-2.

CCC got on the board in the 30th minute when Peyton Timmermeyer scored a header off the assist of Peterson Costa for a 1-0 lead. For Timmermeyer, it was his first goal of the season, while Costa has now recorded five assists on the 2017 season.

The Bulldogs were unable to score and the Raiders were able to notch their second shutout of the year. CCC goalie Guilherme Balestra Demhougi made two saves on the day

"It was probably the best game that we have played so far this year," said CCC head coach Dave Silva.

Up next, the Raiders will host Iowa Lakes Community College. The Lakers are 2-2 on the season following a 5-2 win over Johnson County Community College. Kickoff is set for 4 p.m. at Wilderness Park, 4100 18th Ave., in Columbus.
