COLUMBUS -- The Raiders fell apart in the second half and fell to 1-4 on the season.

The Central Community College men's soccer team allowed three goals in the second half and fell to Western Nebraska Community College 3-0 Friday at Wilderness Park.

"It was the same story the last four games," Central head coach Jon Brezenski said. "We got out of sync, made fundamental errors that we can't make and teams take advantage of it. You can only make so many errors before a team capitalizes and we have to figure that out."

The downfall for the Raiders started right before halftime. Brezenski was frustrated with the lack of "fight" the Raiders showed.

"I thought in the first half, for the most part, we played pretty well," he said. "The last 10 minutes (of the first half), we started to drop off a little bit. We started letting them receive balls for free and we talked about that at halftime, that we can't let that happen and in the first part of the second half, it continued to happen. Then they scored. We've got to have some fight. Our team gets down and we have to show some fight. We have no fight and that's frustrating."

Ivan Sakou put the Cougars on the board first with his goal in the 53rd minute.

Just over three minutes later, Sakou tucked the ball into the upper right corner of the goal for his second of the game, putting the Cougars ahead 2-0.

"Special players like that make good plays and he made some nice plays, there's no doubt," Brezenski said of Sakou. "You have to limit his ability to receive the ball. We were letting him receive it for free. If you let a guy like that receive it for free and attack you free, that's what's going to happen. He made us pay for it. He's a great player -- I'll definitely give him that credit."

In the 77th minute, Cole Brothwell kicked in an open shot for the decisive 3-0 lead.

After each goal, the Raiders went further away from the team game, according to Brezenski.

"You could see that we started to press, started to scramble and then it becomes an individual thing," he said. "You have to stay within the team game. These guys are used to, maybe in high school or club soccer, being able to take a game and put it on their back. You can't do that here. Every team that we play is a good team. We have to figure that out -- it's not going to work that way. If we continue to do this, these are going to be the same results."

Western Nebraska Community College recorded twice as many shots on goal that Central had -- 12-6.

Central hosts Laramie County Community College today.
