Golf: Tigers Swing By Raiders

The Central Community College golf opened the fall 2019 season with a home dual against Doane University JV on Friday at Elks Country Club.

The visiting Tigers won the match with a team score of 310 over CCC's team score of 355.

Levi Fogel (pictured) was CCC's top golfer with a score of 85, followed by Dalton Jerabek's 88.

"This was the initial competition for many of the Raiders against good quality competition at the collegiate level," said CCC head coach Britt Blackwell. "It was a valuable experience for the young team as they learned the importance of limiting mistakes causing unforced errors."

The Raiders will resume play on Tuesday, Sept. 17, at the Midland University Invitational. Normally, a two-day event, it will instead be a 36-hole, one-day event. Tee time is 9:30 a.m. at the Tiburon Golf Club in Omaha.
