Golf: Midland Invite Recap

The Central Community College golf team placed 13th out of 18 teams at Wednesday's Midland Invite at The Pines Country Club in Valley.

The Raiders posted a team score of 313, which placed them in a tie with Concordia University. There was a four-way tie for first place with Doane University, Northwestern College, Morningside College and host Midland University each carding a 292.

CCC was one of three Nebraska community colleges that took part in the Midland Invite. Northeast Community College finished in 10th place with combined score of 308, while Southeast Community College tied with Midland University's C team for 15th place with a score of 318.

Individually, CCC's Trent Colby (pictured) placed among the top 20 golfers after carding a 74 on the day, which put him in a 13-way tie for 19th place. CCC's other golfers were Carter Luedtke (77), Colten Remm (80) and Ryder Lewis (82).

"I am happy with the improvement the team has made as evidenced by a continual reduction in the team scores posted this season," said CCC head coach Britt Blackwell.

The Raiders are back in action today as they host Doane JV at Elks Country Club.
