Golf: York JV Wins A Windy Dual With CCC

York College JV defeated the Central Community College golf team amid windy conditions at Elks Country Club in Columbus on Tuesday afternoon.

The Panthers posted a team score of 310, while the Raiders finished at 335.

A trio of Lakeview High School alums led the way for CCC, with freshman Carter Luetke tallying an 81. Sophomore Colten Remm posted an 83, while freshman Ethan Paben finished with an 85. Freshmen Trent Colby and Ryder Lewis each scored 86 to round out the CCC scoring.

"The team was a little nervous playing in their first competition of the season against the Panthers with many scoring opportunities missed by misplaced shots," said CCC head coach Britt Blackwell. "I expect a marked improvement in individual scoring in the next meet."

The Raiders will be back in action on Thursday as they travel to Lincoln to compete against the Warriors of Union College. Tee time is set for 1:30 p.m. at Holmes Golf Course.
