Golf: Raiders Take Third in Triangular

The Central Community College golf team finished third in a home triangular at Elks Country Club on Friday.

York College JV took top honors with a final team total of 312, followed by Southwestern Community College of Iowa with a team score of 314. CCC closed out the day with a team score of 319.

The Raiders were led by freshman Colten Remm, who shot 78. Fellow freshman Nathan Grossnicklaus (pictured) was right behind Remm with a 79.

"The team members lost focus a few times during the event which caused them to make a few poor shot selections and bad shot execution," said CCC head coach Britt Blackwell. "However, it's still early in the season and the team is working hard to improve in scoring and consistency."

Up next, the Raiders will host another triangular at Elks Country Club with Doane JV and Southeast Community College providing the competition. Tee off is set for 1 p.m. on Tuesday, Sept. 12.
