Men’s Basketball: Blue Devils Halt Raiders

The Central Community College men's basketball team lost to Kansas City Kansas Community College, 74-66, at the Raider Fieldhouse on Saturday.

CCC built a 13-point lead in the first half en route to a 43-32 halftime lead. The Blue Devils opened the second half with an 18-6 run to take a one-point lead at the 14:29 mark. Ten minutes later, the Raiders broke a 63-63 tie when Gacoby Jones nailed a three-point bucket. However, CCC would not score again as KCKCC rattled off 11 points to post the 74-66 victory.

Dwight Glover topped the Raiders in scoring with 16 points, while Jones finished with 15 points.

"Give credit to KCKCC," said CCC head coach John Ritzdorf. "Their pressure and length at the rim took us completely out of our offense. We will learn from the second half of this game and get better for it."

The 1-1 Raiders will play at 0-2 North Platte Community College on Friday night. The Knights lost at Eastern Wyoming College and Laramie County Community College over the weekend. Friday's game begins at 7 p.m.
