Men’s Basketball: MCC Holds Off CCC

The Central Community College men's basketball team lost to McCook Community College, 95-83, at Raider Fieldhouse on Tuesday night.

The Indians led 44-39 at halftime and the Raiders were unable to move ahead despite a second-half run.

Three CCC players scored in double figures with Tre'vion Crawford leading the way with 30 points. Roman Behrens scored 23 points and Nathan Frost chipped in 10 points.

"We let them get too comfortable on the offensive end of the floor, which allowed them to go 12-15 from the three-point line," said CCC head coach John Ritzdorf. "Our defensive intensity needs to improve. I was pleased that we made a run in the second half, but it was too little, too late."

With the loss, the Raiders are now 8-6 on the season.

CCC returns to action on Friday and Saturday at the SCC Holiday Classic in Beatrice. On Friday at 4 p.m., the Raiders will battle Highland Community College. On Saturday at 2 p.m., CCC will take on Next Level Prep.
