Men’s Basketball: CCC Crushes Concordia JV

The Raiders rattled off a 41-10 second-half run en route to a 93-63 win over Concordia JV on Wednesday night at Raider Fieldhouse.

CCC led 37-33 at halftime and the Bulldogs remained close until the 13:14 mark of the second half when Concordia's Logan Eaker scored a bucket to cut the Raiders' lead to 49-48. The Raiders responded with the big run over the next 10 minutes.

Defensively, the Raiders outrebounded the Bulldogs, 52-34. CCC head coach Jerry Drymon made particular mention of the defensive effort.

"We did a great job defensively tonight," said Drymon. "We did a good job contesting shooters and held the Bulldogs to 20 percent from three-point range. Nathan Frost and Manape Cleveland were big on the boards for us. We were very unselfish tonight as well."

Frost led five CCC players in double figures with 21 points to go along with a dozen rebounds. Tre'vion Crawford scored 18 points, all in the second half. Zavier Stevens tallied 12 points, while Cooper Pratt (pictured) finished with 11 points. Paydn Borders rounded out the double-digit scoring with 10 points.

With the win, CCC is now 9-15 on the season.

The Raiders are off until next Wednesday when they travel to Northeast Community College. Last month, the Hawks defeated the Raiders, 81-73, at Raider Fieldhouse. Tip-off in Norfolk is set for 7 p.m.
