Men’s Basketball: Raiders Rout Panthers

Nathan Frost and Latrell Talley each scored 27 points as the Central Community College men's basketball team ran past York JV, 119-87, on Tuesday night. The win gives CCC a sweep of a two-game season series.

The Raiders got off to a quick start by building a 15-point lead in the first eight minutes of the contest. CCC went on to lead at halftime, 58-37. The Panthers were unable to cut into the Raiders' lead in the second half and CCC went on to build a 30-point lead en route to the big win.

Frost and Talley each logged double-doubles with Frost hauling in 21 rebounds, while Talley pulled down 16 boards.

"Both Latrell and Nathan did a great job on the boards," said CCC head coach Jerry Drymon. "They played aggressively which is what we need them to do to be successful."

Overall, CCC outrebounded York JV, 62-37.

"We have been emphasizing rebounding and it was nice to see us step in a big way," said Drymon.

Damien Marquez scored 22 points.

"Damien gave us a great spark off the bench," said Drymon. "He is a very capable shooter and we need to have him making shots down the stretch."

Two other CCC players scored in double-figures with Tre'vion Crawford totaling 19 points, while Cooper Pratt finished with 10 points.

The win gives the Raiders a 6-14 record.

Up next, CCC will travel to Southeast Community College on Saturday for a 4 p.m. game.
