Men’s Basketball: Knights Overtake Raiders

The Central Community College men's basketball team lost at North Platte Community College, 74-59, on Friday night.

CCC got off to a hot start with a 7-0 run, but NPCC quickly responded with a 16-2 run to give the Knights a 16-9 advantage. North Platte went on to lead 41-24 at halftime.

In the second half, the Knights led by as many as 20 points before posting the 74-59 final score.

"We looked like a team that hadn't played in a month," said CCC head coach Jerry Drymon. "We ended the first half very poorly and that was the difference in the game. In the second half, we played defense much better and executed on offense. North Platte is a very good team that we will see again in a month. Hopefully, we can grow from our mistakes and continue to get better."

Tre'vion Crawford and Delrico Simms (pictured) led CCC in scoring with 16 points apiece. Latrell Talley tallied a double-double with 13 points and 14 rebounds.

With the loss, the Raiders are now 4-11 on the season.

CCC will return to action on Thursday night in round one of the Ramada Classic at Raider Fieldhouse. The Raiders will take on Midland JV at 6 p.m.
