Men’s Basketball: Big Run Sparks Spartans

The Central Community College men's basketball team lost to Southwestern Community College, 81-63, at Raider Fieldhouse on Tuesday night.

CCC kept close throughout the first half and trailed 37-28 at halftime. The Spartans then opened the second half with a 14-0 and went on to the victory.

"We faced a great competitor last night," said CCC head coach Jerry Drymon. "We hung around in the first half and gave ourselves a chance to start the second half. However, we didn't come out with the right motivation and gave up the big run. That lack of focus really hurt us."

CCC's Cooper Pratt (pictured) led four players in double figures with 16 points. Zavier Stevens totaled 13 points, while Tristan Hoover and Hakeem Odunsi each scored 10 points apiece.

With the loss, the Raiders are now 1-8 on the season.

CCC will return to action on Thursday night with a home game against Nebraska Wesleyan JV. Tip-off is set for 5:30 p.m. at Raider Fieldhouse.
