Men’s Basketball: Raiders Fall To Spartans

The Central Community College men's basketball team lost to sixth-ranked Southwestern Community College, 71-68, in the final round of the Pinnacle Bank Classic at Raider Fieldhouse.

The teams were knotted at the half, 38-38, and CCC outrebounded Southwestern, 44-30. Still, CCC head coach Jerry Drymon was pleased with his team's performance.

"This was by far our best effort of the year," said Drymon. "We improved so much on defense and played with tremendous heart and passion. We just came up one play short of the victory. We now need to sustain this effort to continue building."

Two CCC players scored in double figures. Tre'vion Crawford (pictured) poured in 24 points, while Zavier Stevens finished with 12 points.

The Raiders are now 1-6 overall.

CCC is back in action on Tuesday night with a battle against McCook Community College. The Indians are 3-4 following an 84-82 loss to Cloud County Community College last Friday. Tip-off for CCC and McCook is set for 7:30 p.m.
