Men’s Basketball: Raiders Pick Up First Win

Six Raiders scored in double figures to lead CCC to a 107-97 win over York College JV in the opening round of the Pinnacle Bank Classic on Friday night.

CCC shot 54 percent from the floor and outrebounded the Panthers, 45-34. The Raiders dished out 20 assists with Hakeem Odunsi tallying a team-high nine assists.

Manape Cleveland (pictured) led all CCC scorers with 24 points, while Delrico Simms was right behind with 23 points. Damien Marquez logged 15 points, while Odunsi and Zavier Stevens recorded a dozen points apiece. Tre'vion Crawford chipped in 11 points.

"It was nice to pick up our first win," said CCC head coach Jerry Drymon. "We showed areas of improvement on offense. All of the guys were able to contribute to the victory in way or another."

The win gives the Raiders a 1-5 record for the 2018-19 season.

In Saturday's second round of the Pinnacle Bank Classic, CCC will take on Southwestern Community College.
