Men’s Basketball: Raiders Drop Opener

The Central Community College men's basketball team lost to Cloud County Community College, 81-69, at Raider Fieldhouse on Thursday night.

The T-birds led the Raiders by one at halftime, 38-37. CCCC kept the momentum in the second half and left town with the 12-point win.

"We got off to a great start, but then veered away from what was making us successful," said CCC head coach Jerry Drymon. "We need to learn from this and focus on playing a 40-minute game. We had a lot of guys play their first college game, so we have to learn from this quickly in order to have a good season."

CCC's Mayra Almayra came off the bench to lead the Raiders in scoring with 18 points. Nathan Frost added 11 points, while Cooper Pratt finished with 10 points.

The 0-1 Raiders will remain at home for their next contest as Little Priest Tribal College comes to town on Wednesday night. Tip-off at Raider Fieldhouse is set for 7 p.m.
