Men’s Basketball: Raiders Drop Third Straight

The Central Community College men's basketball team lost to Hastings College JV on Thursday night, 82-74, at Lynn Farrell Arena.

The Raiders jumped off to a modest lead to open the game before the Broncos got going and took a 42-36 lead at halftime. In the second half, CCC whittled away at the Hastings lead, but each time, the Broncos had answer, usually in the form of a three-point basket. On the night, the Broncos recorded a dozen three-point buckets out of 33 attempts. On the other side, the Raiders only made five three-point baskets on 16 attempts.

"We just struggle from three," said CCC head coach Jerry Drymon. "Until we work a little harder at it and get a little better at it, we're going to continue to have those issues."

Garrett Sittner led four players in double figures with 16 points. Maquis Dotson finished with 15 points, while Latrell Talley tallied 14 points. Bennett Nelson rounded out the double-digit scoring with 10 points.

The loss gives the Raiders an overall mark of 7-11.

CCC will return home on Sunday to host Dakota Wesleyan JV at Raider Fieldhouse. Tip-off is set for 2 p.m.
