Hawks Fly Off with The Victory

Northeast Community College recorded a 95-82 win over Central Community College on Saturday afternoon at Raider Fieldhouse. Marty Hill scored a game-high 28 points to lead the Hawks in scoring, while the Northeast reserves outscored the CCC non-starters, 24-3.

The Raiders fell behind by 12 points at the half, 42-30, but then cut the double-digit lead down to single digits in the second half. However, the Hawks held CCC at bay with 51 percent field goal shooting and a 46-36 rebounding advantage.

"We played with great effort on Saturday, but we just couldn't get over the hump." said CCC head coach Jerry Drymon. "We missed some three-pointers that we usually make and struggled to rebound against their size."

Logan Fleming and Luke Cadzow each scored 23 points to lead the Raiders in scoring, while Marco Fabietti chipped in 18 points. Defensively, Ruben Fuamba hauled in 10 rebounds.

With the loss, the Raiders are now 11-8, having dropped two straight. Up next, CCC welcomes Nebraska Wesleyan JV to Raider Fieldhouse. Tip-off is set for 7 p.m. on Monday.
