CCC Falls Short at MCC in Offensive Shootout

Torrey Mayo's triple-double powered McCook Community College to a 105-98 win over Central Community College at the Graff Events Center on Friday night. Mayo scored 12 points, hauled in 10 rebounds and dished out 10 assists in the seven-point victory.

Rebounding and high-percentage shots were key for the Indians, as MCC outrebounded CCC, 53-38, and shot 53 percent from the field.

"The difference in the game was our lack of rebounding and containing penetration," said CCC head coach Jerry Drymon. "We will get back to the fundamentals and get that corrected this week."

Still, the Raiders had a solid offensive game themselves, as three players accounted for 67 of the team's 98 points. Jerome Dixon led the charge with 32 points, Tristan Hoover totaled 20 points and Logan Fleming chipped in 15 points.

"We had some excellent offensive possessions," said Drymon. "Jerome was hot and we did a good job finding him. Tristan came off the bench and was very productive."

CCC returns to action on Tuesday night with a home contest against Mount Marty JV. Tipoff at Raider Fieldhouse is set for 7:30 p.m.
