SALINA, Kan. -- The Raiders were right there, but still couldn't put together a full game.

The Central Community College men's basketball team lost to Barton Community College 86-66 Friday in Salina, Kansas.

"It was another game that we played well for 30 minutes of the game," Central head coach Jerry Drymon said. "It's been similar to what we've seen in several games this year -- we just don't play complete games."

The Raiders trailed by just six at halftime.

"Offensively, we were fairly patient," Drymon said. "We took good shots. Defensively, we did a pretty solid job defending them. It was as efficient as we've been all year offensively against a pretty good basketball team."

Still, the Raiders kept with Barton in the second half, until a late Barton run doomed Central.

"We were right there with them, but they just made a little 8-0 run and we just never countered that back," Drymon said. "That was with about five minutes to go. We had a chance at a really good team."

The Raiders hit 11 3-pointers on the night. Thomas Johnson hit seven, while Tanner Fuelberth added two, and Bryant Kelly and Connor Long each hit one.

Johnson finished with a team-high 25 points.

"He played really well," Drymon said. "He was very efficient. He was 7-of-10 from deep in the game. He also had four rebounds and defended real well. He had a complete game. We did a god job of finding him."

Tyrone Clayton added 10 points, while Fuelberth had nine points, and Bryant Kelly scored seven points.
