Women’s Soccer: CCC Signs North Platte Star

The Central Community College women's soccer team is pleased to announce the signing of Mei Hou, a 2019 graduate of North Platte High School.

Hou helped lead the Bulldogs to their second straight NSAA state tournament in 2019, making it to the semifinals for the first time in 14 seasons. In the Class B semifinal game against Skutt Catholic High School, Hou scored the first Bulldog goal in the 5-2 NPHS loss. In the opening round of the NSAA Class B state tournament, Hou scored a goal and logged an assist as the Bulldogs beat Bennington, 3-0.

In addition to winning the conference and district titles, The Bulldogs tallied a program record 18 wins.

"This is an amazing opportunity to be part of a new women's soccer program," said Hou in signing her letter of intent.

CCC head coach Jamie Bennett said he is looking forward to Hou joining the team.

"Mei is an extremely talented player with amazing speed," said Bennett. "She is going to be tough to defend on the wings and I look for her to create a lot of scoring opportunities for us."

Hou will be an academic transfer major at CCC. She is the daughter of Jian and Sara Hou of North Platte.
