Silva Selected To Lead Raiders Soccer

Central Community College is proud to announce the appointment of Dave Silva as the head coach of the Raiders men's soccer team. Silva will also serve as the diversity recruiter for CCC athletics.

Silva comes to Central Community College from Santa Fe High School in Alachua, Florida, where he served as head coach of the Raiders boys soccer program for the past seven seasons. Following Santa Fe's successful 2013 campaign, Silva was named as the Class 2A District 7 Coach of the Year. During his tenure as a high school soccer coach, Silva amassed more than 100 victories.

"It is a great honor to lead a program such as Central Community College that has so much untapped potential," said Silva.

In 2012, Silva founded the Alachua Soccer Academy, which provided an affordable way for players to experience traveling to regional tournament play. In particular, players from rural communities were able to travel and compete successfully at numerous tournaments throughout Florida and Georgia.

A long-time advocate for higher education, Silva earned a bachelor and master's degree from California State University-Northridge. Silva also earned a master's degree in sports management and is currently pursuing a Ph.D. in psychology, with an emphasis in performance psychology.

Silva and his wife Lyn reside in Columbus.
